ABOUT CHELSEA COURTNEY

Chelsea grew up in Stehekin, WA, a small town in the middle of the North Cascades mountains. She has always been into art, whether it was doodling on her math papers in school, or creating small books and paintings with any paper that was around the house.

Fast forward through years of college, more art classes, and a degree in Architecture, many fun jobs/professions, and she has landed in Leavenworth, WA where she works for a wonderful Architecture firm, Syndicate Smith, LLC. Finding a strong community in this beautiful location has revitalized her passion for creating art and the space and opportunity to do so.

Watercolor has been her medium of choice, and she loves the challenge and endless dynamics it brings to the paper. She had the opportunity to join Stephanie Bower in a perspective sketching and painting class in Italy in 2018, and this was an inspiring way to learn how to capture the urban environment, and also apply these techniques to natural landscapes.
